This image of a graphene dispersion deposited on silicon was obtained by scanning electron microscopy. We see sheets of different sizes and thicknesses with aggregates in the center which are more visible than the others. Some have also adopted a configuration eerily reminiscent of a bird of prey attacking a snake trying to escape. Given the disposition of the two protagonists, there is little hope for the reptile… Although saddened by these imaginary snakes, these results underline the morphology of the leaves and the way they are organized during a deposition and are therefore of crucial interest to validate our liquid phase exfoliation protocol to produce graphene.
