CERMA is a research center dedicated to the development, study and use of new materials. It is supported by Université Laval and is a component of the Centre québécois sur les matériaux fonctionnels (CQMF).

CERMA has also been funded since 2020 by a grant from the Programme de soutien aux organismes de recherche et d’innovation, in support of strategic technology platforms from Quebec’s Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation.

CERMA is also a member of the Réseau d’Équipements de Pointe publics et d’Expertises en recherche pour les Entreprises (REPERE) powered by Prima Québec.
