CERMA is a research center dedicated to the development, study and use of new materials. It is supported by Laval University and is a component of the Quebec Center for Functional Materials (CQMF).
CERMA has also been funded since 2020 by a grant from the Support Program for Research and Innovation Organizations, in support of the strategic technological platforms of the Quebec Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
CERMA is also a member of the Network of Advanced Public Equipment and Research Expertise for Businesses (REPERE) powered by Prima Québec.
